The Union Sanctuary (US) is an organization composed of men and women who have come from many different walks of life, religious institutions, and cultural backgrounds that believe in the transcendence of dogmatic loyalty to scripture to achieve levels of spiritual understanding that go beyond all boundaries to the doorstep of Supreme Identity. The Union philosophy is centered in the common truth of many esoteric faiths. The US embraces the ULC philosophy of “do that which is right” and welcomes anyone, no matter their spiritual background, who is willing to enter into congregation with others of diverse faith and find Union together as one voice.

We believe in the unity of mankind. We believe that all religions that are built upon positive foundations offer some common truth when separated from the dogma and rhetoric of socio-cultural prejudice. We believe that we are all equal in the eyes of God no matter whom that God may be in the eyes of others. We believe in the positive and negative forces with which we all struggle in the daily unfolding of our lives. As smaller parts of the greater whole, we believe in the miraculous happenings of the Supreme Identity of God.

We are a loose organization of individuals who study and try to apply the principles of Unionism in our own lives. There are no hierarchies within the sanctuary beyond the necessary titles required by law for incorporation. All Union Clerics address one another as brother or sister as gender or preference so dictates. We call ourselves Cleric, in the sense that we are but humble clerks in service to each other, our Sanctuary, and the world. Ministers may sometimes choose to use the title “Reverend” for business purposes in the execution of services such as outside marriages, funerals, etc. This title is only for the recognition of occupation for outside persons to identify and is not used within the sanctuary.

Union Clerics, in our definition, are those who strive for Union with each other, themselves, and God. Union Clerics are people who are trying to serve the greater good of mankind in seeking Union and accomplishing the will of God, the Supreme Identity of us all, in their daily lives. Through meditation and prayer Union Clerics journey inward along the trail of mind toward that point where each separate identity meets in Union with the Supreme Identity called God. Realizing that all of Creation is reinvented in every fleeting moment, the Union Cleric is free from worry for the non-existent future, or the unchangeable past. Recognizing that all life and every soul is connected in the point of meeting with the Supreme Identity, the Union Cleric faces every living entity as a brother or sister, and ultimately as One with all. The Union Cleric shuns elevated titles in realizing that equality. They learn to trust intuition and serendipity as guiding events in the path towards Union.

Be respectful and compassionate to all living beings. “The Supreme Identity” “Creator” or “Source” is used when addressing or naming God. The Union Sanctuary strongly discourages discrimination or harassment towards another individual’s beliefs, creed, religion, race, color or sex. The US is an equal opportunity organization.
